Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to announce the DEA2024: International Conference of Data Envelopment Analysis, scheduled to take place at Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH Noida), Delhi, India, from November 18 to 21, 2024. This conference is jointly organized by BIMTECH Noida and the Centre for Business Analytics in Practice (CBAP) at Surrey Business School, UK.
Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA)
Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), developed by Charnes, Cooper, and Rhodes in 1978, is a non-parametric method assessing the efficiency of decision-making units (DMUs) with multiple inputs and outputs. Unlike parametric methods, DEA avoids prior assumptions on functional form or distribution. It establishes an empirical production frontier from observed DMU data, representing the pinnacle of input-output relationships. Each DMU is evaluated against this frontier to determine efficiency. DEA’s versatility spans economics, management science, operations research, and public sector evaluation, especially in cases involving multiple inputs/outputs or nonlinear relationships. Key advantages include non-parametricity, handling multiple inputs/outputs, benchmarking potential, and flexibility in addressing efficiency issues like cost, production, and allocative efficiency.
The theme of this conference is “Advancing DEA: Bridging Theory and Practice”. We cordially invite researchers, academics, and practitioners to submit original research papers across disciplines that explore DEA applications, model development, and its utilization to address policy matters.
